Designer Rugs have teamed up with Australian Fashion Designers Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson from Easton Pearson for their second collaboration; introducing the “Coromandel Collection.”
Drawing on a variety of influences, Easton & Pearson have referenced their travels and the rich histories and culture of India, Africa and Europe, however this collection sees a focus on fabrics and textile techniques that help to inspire the design process:
“With our second collection for Designer Rugs we have continued our exploration of the intricate hand drawn details of Chintz textiles. Our designs take chintz back to its original purpose as sophisticated floor coverings, but the macro focus on tiny fragments gives traditional design a new modern viewpoint.”
Arcadia, Fontina, Passion Flower and Splendida are hand-made from 100% New Zealand Wool and feature vibrant floral design, reminiscent of traditional chintz tapestries- yet with a modern twist. Dawning, First Morning and Poppy Field are hand-made from New Zealand Wool & Silk and showcase striking oversized patterns, which are both sensual and balanced. And Falling Water is hand-made from New Zealand Wool.
Each rug in the collection hand-made to the standard size of 200×300 cm with two rugs in a standard size of 250cm diameter. Additionally they can be custom coloured and sized to suit any interior space, whether commercial or residential.
The Easton Pearson Coromandel Collection is available exclusively from Designer Rugs showrooms now, visit www.designerrugs.com.au for showroom locations or phone 1300 802 561 for more information.
