Grey’s Anatomy Season 8

Grey’s Anatomy is a medical drama about a group of surgeons working at Seattle Grace Hospital. The show centers around Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and her life as a resident at the hospital. In addition to her relationship with her neurosurgeon husband, Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), and best friend Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh), it also explores her relationships with her peers and the other doctors around her. Each episode dives into different medical cases and personal dramas of the doctors at Seattle Grace, with Dr. Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) at the helm of the surgical department as the new Chief of Surgery.

Series 8 goes for a roller coaster ride starting off with the dismissal of Meredith Grey for tampering with a medical trial. Her relationship is tested with Derrick as they fight to keep custody of their adopted daughter Zola.  With a dramatic ending we see the doctors fighting for their own survival from a plane crash which sees the demise of some much loved characters.

Once Upon A Time

Once Upon A Time, there was an enchanted forest filled with fairytale characters. The series takes place in the fictional seaside town of Storybrooke, Maine, in which the residents are actually characters from various fairy tales that were transported to the “real world” town by a powerful curse. Its only hope lies with a bail bondswoman, Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), who was transported from the fairy tale world before she could be cursed. As such, she is the only person who can break the curse and restore the characters’ lost memories, aided by her son, Henry, who has a book of fairy tales that holds the key to ending the curse.  Each episode focuses on a character back story. One segment details their life in the fairy tale world that, when serialized, adds a piece to the puzzle about the characters and their connection to the events that preceded the curse and its consequences. The other, set in the present day, follows a similar pattern with a different outcome but also offers similar insights.

One Upon A Time was created by the acclaimed writers of LOST, and features a stellar ensemble cast including Ginnifer Goodwin (Big Love), Jennifer Morrison (House MD), Lana Parrilla (Medium), Josh Dallas (THor), Jared S Gilmore (Mad Men), Robert Carlyle (28 Weeks Later) and Raphael Sbarge (Dexter).

We gave the Series 4.5/5, read our review here.

From the creator of Sex and the City, Darren Star, comes GCB (based on Kim Gatlin’s hit book, Good Christian Bitches). Think Desperate Housewives meets Dallas. Forced to return home to Dallas Texas, completely broke, Amanda must move in with her mum and confront the high school girls she used to rule!  It also features the deliciously funny Kristen Chenoweth (Pushing Daisys) as Carlene Cockburn her main antagonist alongside; Annie Potts (“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,”) as Gigi Stopper, Jennifer Aspen (“Rodney”) as Sharon Peacham, Miriam Shor (“Swingtown,” “Damages”) as Cricket Caruth-Reilly, Marisol Nichols (“24”) as Heather Cruz, Mark Deklin (“Lone Star”) as Blake Reilly, David James Elliott (“JAG”) as Ripp Cockburn and Brad Beyer (“Jericho”) as Zack Peacham.

    Thanks everyone for entering.

  2. Ebony Jackson says:

Snow white was always my favourite, I remember for months after seeing it at the movies,my Nan would always ask me “which dwarf are you today?” I would say “Nanna, you know that I’m not a Dwarf I’m Snow White and she would say” of course you are, beautiful, polite and a princess” It was our little saying for yrs. I miss her.

  3. Mel Jones says:

Cinderella because I still like to get home before midnight in case my ride turns into a pumpkin!

  4. Julie Rattenbury says:

Rupunzel was my most favourite fairy tale as I remember never wanting my hair cut so it could grow as long as rupunzel’s and my prince could climb my tower to rescue me by using my hair as rope.

  5. sophie says:

snow white was my most memorable childhood fairytale because grandma used to t ell me the story in greek often before i fell asleep as she looked after me alot while parents worked.

  6. Sean Warhurst says:

Bluebeard – I enjoyed the dichotomy of it being a children’s tale but having sinister undertones. The structure of the story more closely resembles a horror story than a fairytale, and as a young boy I used to feel “Tough” listening to such a horrific tale… Until the lights went out, that is! As an adult I see a dark side to a lot of classic fairytales, but the image of the wife stumbling upon the room filled with the corpses of Bluebeards former wives sticks with me to this day!

  7. Lesleigh says:

I just adored Alice In Wonderland. I loved the idea of having a magical adventure with talking rabbits.

  8. Natasha Andrews says:

The Practical Princess was my absolutely favourite fairy tale as a child – my mum found the book and I am sure she regreted it sometimes because I made her read it over and over again. It was about a smart princess who rescued herself, her kingdom and her prince and they lived happily ever after!
