Italian Fashion House Marni have just announced the upcoming release of their debut fragrance “Marni.” The fragrance is reported to be quite ‘individual’ not evoking anything in particular. It’s for the woman who dresses for herself, who doesn’t follow trends but is sophisticated and also may be a little eccentric.
The fragrance was inspired by one that Consuelo Castiglioni, Marni’s creative director, worked on 20 years ago with Givaudan perfumer Daniela Amdrier, a floral with fruity notes. It was a blend of spicy and woody notes, which Gabai-Pinsky praised but thought was a bit raw. So a dark, intense rose oil has been added to it to inject voluptuousness, moderated with incense to create a modern, bold scent.
The print campaign features Raquel Zimmermann as photographed by Nick Knight.
The flacon is inspired by an old bottle that Castiglioni discovered in a flea market 20 years ago shares Castiglioni:
“I wanted a bottle that was kind of traditional, that is, one that lasts over time, like the clothes we make, which last and you can still wear two or three years from now. It isn’t seasonal. I think this bottle reflects our concept — you want to keep it. It also has the dots, which are part of our world, and a play on proportions with the cap. These elements are also important in our fashion.”
It will be available as a 65-ml. eau de parfum retailig for US RRP$105 and a 120-ml. size US RRP$155. A 30-ml. size is being contemplated for later. Also included in the lineup is a US RRP$50 purse spray, which comes with a fabric “Huggy” doll as well as the usual body care products; 200-ml. body lotion, shower gel and body cream, also a deo-fragrance.
There is no confirmed counter date for Australia at this time … fingers crossed we do get one, this looks adorable!
