The name Lancôme is synonymous with classic. Known for some of the most classic and elegant fragrances in recent years, Lancôme have just released a brand new fragrance La Vie Est Belle with Julia Roberts as the face of the campaign.
La Vie Est Belle is an optimistic, bright perfume that speaks of its name’s declaration: life is beautiful. It celebrates the beauty of a world free of expectations, and the freedom in choosing happiness over possessions and appearances.
The fragrance was created by combining the talents of three master perfumers, each with a separate and distinct talent. Together, they have blended their gifts of creativity, technicality and femininity to create an entirely new fragrance, to welcome in a new era for Lancôme.
The scent is surprisingly light, given the tendency Lancôme has towards heavy fragrances. The scent opens with the sparkly notes of blackcurrant and pear. This settles into a smokier heart of iris and jasmine, which adds the right amount of sensuality and femininity to the scent. Finally, it develops into the familiar Lancôme base with heavier notes of patchouli, vanilla and praline.
The fragrance is definitely lighter than many Lancôme fragrances, and it strikes an initially quite sweet scent, reminiscent of their beloved fragrance Tresor. The heavier notes help to mature and refine the fragrance, making it a great night time scent.
The fragrance is available now from Myer, David Jones and selected pharmacies. Available in 30ml (RRP $95), 50ml (RRP $130) and 75ml (RRP $150).
