Olivia Palermo an International Ambassador for the Maasai Project

| 25 February , 2013 | Reply

Olivia Palermo is this year’s ambassador of the Maasai Project and she recently travelled to Kenya to experience the project first hand where she was able to tour the African Savannah and understand what it’s like to be a Maasai woman.

Olivia spoke to Maasai women and learnt about their lives in Africa, she was shown how to do embroidery work and she visited a school where children are taught maths, languages, geography, as well as the history, culture and customs of the Maasai tribe, which, according to the UN, is one of the world’s most endangered tribes.  The images below showcase Olivia channeling life as a Maasai woman.

For a few days Olivia Palermo was an authentic Maasai girl and toured the African Savannah in the sandals from this special Pikolinos collection. Here you can see the lookbook of the collection and the work of our Maasai ambassador.
