Everyone knows a flawless base is needed for creating the perfect make up look, so that means a good foundation is one of the most important steps in our beauty routines. Lucky for us Lancôme have just released their highly anticipated new foundation, Teint Visionnaire, and Kiehl’s highly anticipated BB Cream in Australia and we are excited.

Teint Visionnaire (RRP $65) is an exciting concealer and foundation duo – the top of the bottle screws off to reveal a pot of the concealer and a mirror, with the foundation’s pump bottle underneath, so perfect for on the go girls.

The foundation is a variation of Lancôme’s besttling selling skin serum Visionnaire, which helps to heal the skin’s surface, smoothing the skin and fading pesky pigmentation. The foundation is quite light weight – it gives a really decent coverage, and for someone who doesn’t wear much foundation these days, this was a breeze to put on the face and wear.  It has a pretty, soft finish that looks quite natural in any light and with a range of 12 different shades you’ll have no trouble picking the right colour for you.

The concealer in the package is fantastic – it’s thick and creamy, but melts onto the skin with little effort. Because of the consistency, it does a great job of concealing imperfections, without caking on the skin, or appearing unnatural. We have to say this is one of the best concealers we’ve used, totally effortless!

We recommend this product highly and you know we are a bit tough on Lancôme because they use too many fragrances in their products, well this perfectly matched duo doesn’t contain their strong signature fragrances so for those of us with sensitivities to fragrances will love it even more!

On a lighter now now, if you’re looking for something a little lighter, the Kiehl’s Activity Correcting and Beautifying BB Cream (RRP $36) is sure to do the trick. Kiehl’s acknowledge that the market is already flooded with BB Cream, but given more than enough reasons for you to choose theirs. The formula is a little thicker than most BB Creams we’ve tried, and it has good coverage for uneven and blemished skin. It has fantastic long-wear properties and hydrates your skin even as you wear it. Best of all it’s paraben and mineral oil free, with added SPF to protect and nourish your skin. It even contains Vitamin C to help correct skin damage and clarify your skin tone, encouraging natural radiance over time.

The one thing to look out for is the scent – the product is fragrance free, but the scent is still quite strong. It does fade eventually once it’s on the skin, but if you have a sensitive nose, you may want to steer clear. Available in 3 shades – Fair, Light and Natural.
