Lanvin have gone back to their roots with the release of their latest fragrance “Lanvin – Me,” a fragrance for the woman that celebrates herself. The campaign features Iselin Steiro as photographed by Steven Meisel kissing her reflection in the mirror.
Alber Elbaz, the beloved hero at Lanvin has long said that he doesn’t design gowns for men to fall in love with the women who wear them, but rather so that women may fall in love with themselves. This has been his philosophy for so long, that he decided to branch out and capture that spirit in his brand new fragrance.
The fragrance is intended to mean something different for every women, in accessing their true spirit – a little bit whimsical, a little bit fiery, a little bit flirty, there is a little bit of every girl in this nuanced scent.
Me is for the independent woman, who knows how important it is to put herself first. It opens on a sweet harmony of fruits – zesty mandarin and blueberries (an homage to the ever luscious Lanvin blue). It then blossoms into something more surprising, blending liquorice root with sensual rosy notes. This is supported by a base note of soft and smoky sandalwood.
The fragrance is unexpected – certainly far girlier than we had expected for the luxurious brand. But if you’re on the lookout for something a little different, this new fragrance is one to try.
