Winter’s on its way, so it’s time to cosy down with a fun and sexy new novel. Rough Diamond, a brand new novel by Kathryn Ledson may be just what you’re after for the season.

Melbourne gal, Erica Jewell has hit rock bottom – her marriage has just come to an unexpected and jolting end, she’s heartbroken and to top it off, she’s broke. With a gaping hole in her bank account, Erica only wants to get herself back on her feet – no debts and certainly no more men.

After making this promise to herself, she is certainly surprised to find a man bleeding in her back garden, who’ll come to turn her life upside down. The mysterious Jack Jones, while recovering from his shoulder wound, recruits Erica to his team of top secret vigilantes. And just like that, Erica’s life will never be the same again.

Fans of Janet Evanovich will adore having their very own Australian version – Erica Jewell is a bold, funny and sexy character. The combination of romance and spy drama is a classic winner, and it makes a great easy read.

There’s certainly nothing earth shatteringly original about Rough Diamond, but the writing is genuinely funny and engaging. It’s easy to get lost in the story; the plot moves quickly, and there’s certainly thrill about reading a novel set against a familiar backdrop.
