There’s a plethora of new beauty products that have hit or will be hitting our shelves, so I thought I’d give you a bit of a round up of what’s new and what we’re loving here in the Sassi Sam Office. We can thank Elizabeth Arden, Maybelline, L’Oreal, Max Factor and Garnier for blowing our budgets.
First up, we’ve got Max Factor’s CC Cream (aka. Colour Correcting Cream), we’ve touched on BB Creams and CC Creams before (read about them here), but this little multi-tasking cream applies easily on the face and feels light on the skin and masks any flaws you have really well without the heaviness of a foundation. It also feels lovely and hydrating on the skin and includes ingredients of cucumber water, rose hip extract and sea buckthorn. (The campaign features Victoria’s Secret Goddess, Candice Swanepoel).
Available now in six shades; Light, Fair, Natural, Medium, Tanned and Bronze (RRP$19.95), for your nearest stockist you can call 1800 181 040 or visit the Max Factor website: www.maxfactor.com.au.
Next up we have Elizabeth Arden’s BB Cream debut, the Visible Difference Multi-Targeted BB Cream with Sunscreens. This richly hydrating cream brings the benefits of skincare and foundation into one product and is probably suitable for more mature skin types even though it’s suggested as being suitable for all skin types. Similar in thickness to the Clarins BB Cream, it too is like a tinted moisturiser that leaves you with a fresh and dewy look. It contains Vitamin C as well as licorice extract and formulated with hyaluronic acid and key anti-aging ingredients, to help with skin brightness and texture.
Available now in three shades; Shade 1: very fair with pink undertones, Shade 2: fair-to-medium with golden beige undertones and Shade 3: deep with golden undertones (RRP$40) nationally at Myer, David Jones and selected pharmacies. For your nearest stockist you can call 1800 015 500.
Garnier have released their lastest BB Cream companion, the BB Cream Eye Roll-On and this is a little beauty that is a must have for the purse and bathroom. The BB Eye Roll-on contains 2% haloxyl, an active ingredient that can combat signs of puffiness and dark circles around the eye area. The tube application is via a metal ball that feels cold and smooth as it’s applied although the product does require blending in after application so it’s not sitting too thick on the skin. It provides good coverage and concealment featuring mineral light reflecting pigments.
Available now in two colours only (the same as the face BB Cream) in a 7mL tube (RRP$13.95) nationally at your nearest supermarket or priceline store.
Maybelline have released a few new products that we’re loving, the Instant Age Rewind “The Lifter” Foundation with Primer (RRP$25.95), the Super Stay 24hr Powder (RRP$18.95) and new Color Tattoo 24hr Metal Cream Gel Eyeshadows (RRP$11.95).
Okay, first up we’re absolutely loving the Instant Age Rewind The Lifter Foundation. It comes complete with primer and goes on like a dream as it smooths and hydrates the skin for a ‘younger lifted’ look with it’s inclusion of infused peptides. Available in eight shades; Creamy Ivory, Classic Ivory, Nude Beige, Creamy Natural, Sandy Beige, Pure Beige, Medium Beige and Honey Beige. Audience is targeted at women 40+ but it’s light enough if you’re in your 30’s.
Next up is the SuperStay 24H Waterproof Powder that features silicone coated pigments and amino acids to help create that enduring flawless finish. Instead of using the sponge that it comes with, I used a brush, much easier to apply and holds well throughout the day. I’m unsure of the the ‘waterproof’ claims, it hasn’t rained in QLD since I’ve worn it, but they say it repels oil and sweat, our QLD summer is sure to test it!
Lastly, the Color Tattoo 24hr Metal Cream Gel Shadow Pots, which we’ve been loving since they launched here in 2012. The colours glide on easily and stay, just add them to your make up haul, you won’t regret it. Available in four metallic colours that are inspired by bold, luxurious jewels; Inked in Pink, Silver Strike, Barely Branded and Electric Blue (our faves include Inked in Pink and Silver Strike).
The Maybelline 24hr Stay Range is available now nationally at your nearest supermarket or priceline store.
L’Oreal have also released a range of new must have products including; the Nutrilift Gold Serum Foundation (RRP$39.95), Nude Magique CC Creams for Anti-Dullness and Anti-Fatigue (RRP$26.95); three new eye liners; Superliner Perfect Slim (RRP$24.45), Superliner Blackbuster (RRP$16.95) and the Superliner Silkissime (RRP$22.95) and a pretty Colour Riche Le Vernis Summer Collection of Nail Shades (RRP$6.95).
The Nutrilift Gold Serum Foundation glides on effortlessly and provides a light flawless finish with a touch of dewiness to it. The new Serum based foundation provides additional anti-ageing ingredients that hydrate the skin and provides a touch of gold radiance. The five active ingredients include; Pro-Retinol, Pro-Xylane, Pro-Lastyl, Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid and Collagen. The packaging is a pump in a glass bottle which makes for easy application. Available in seven shades; Intense Ivory 130, Creamy Beige 150, Rose Beige 160, Beige Glow 170, Golden Beige 180, Sand 250 and Golden Honey 330.
The Nude Magique Anti-Redness CC Cream launched earlier this year to much success and joining the Anti-Redness campaign are two new CC Creams, this time they are fighting Fatigue and Dullness. The Anti-Fatigue CC Cream formulation uses milky-apricot pigments that blend to a light foundation, going on a bit orange it does eventually blend into your skin tone and provide the same style of coverage as the Anti-Redness CC Cream but didn’t provide an anti-fatigued look. The Anti-Dullness CC Cream is a milky-mauve emulsion changes into a foundation on contact with the skin that corrects tired-looking yellow tones in every skin tone. The Anti-Dullness cream was the pick out of the two new additions, I think it’s magic how they can change colour to match your skin tones on application and they give light but good coverage considering how light weight the formulas are. They also incorporate B5, Vitamin E and SPF 12 in the formulations.
Following on from the success of the L’Oreal SuperLiner Liquid Eyeliner and SuperLiner 24H Gel Eyeliner, we have three new eyeliners to play with this spring; Superliner Perfect Slim, Superliner Blackbuster and the Superliner Silkissime.
Bringing the catwalk to your bathroom, the SuperLiner Perfect Slim enhances the shape of the eye with its very precise 0.4mm tip and easy to use felt-tip eyeliner, it is the perfect everyday product. Available in Intense Black.
The SuperLiner Blackbuster Eyeliner creates the boldest eye with this marker-pen inspired eyeliner that allows you to create a thick bold eye with or without a steady hand. Drying quickly, so be precise, it does stay on and doesn’t smudge. Available in Intense Black.
The SuperLiner Silkissime Eyeliner is a softer styled pencil with a silky texture using oils for a glide on application. It doesn’t provide a thin line but I prefer the thicker style of application and does stay on much better and longer than my other eyeliners that I love that are a softer texture. Available in two shades; 601 Seductive Black and 602 Brown Temptation.
This Spring season, we see the Colour Riche Le Vernis Summer Collection offering six on-trend neon shades to add a touch of vibrant colour to your week. Launched in 2012, the fashion-inspired nail collections feature high-concentrate pigments and a built-in Top Coats. The six shades include; Acid Watermelon 827, Flashing Lilac 828, Atomic Purple 829, Neon Turquoise 830, Wasabi Hint 833 and Banana Pop 834.
The new L’Oreal range is available now (except those noted below) nationally at selected supermarkets, pharmacies, department and variety stores. For your nearest stockist you can call 1300 659 359.
Please note: The Nude Magique Anti-Fatigue and Anti-Dullness CC Creams are available from September and the SuperLiner Silkissme and SuperLiner Blackbuster Eyeliner and Colour Riche Le Vernis Summer Collection are available from October.
