Dior’s pastel hued Spring “Trianon” 2014 Make Up Collection takes inspiration from the private estate of Marie-Antoinette the Petit Trianon featuring Daria Strokous as the face of the glamboyant campaign.

“Continuing its Versailles inspiration from the Golden Winter collection for Holiday 2013, this time the house of Dior looks to the effervescence and delightful gardens of Marie-Antoinette’s Petite Trianon.  For Spring 2014, the Dior Trianon Collection exhibits porcelain complexion, pink cheeks, pastels on eyes and nails, and sweet lips. The palettes are all beautifully engraved, bringing to mind the graces and cupids that predominate throughout the palace.”

Featuring a colour palette of soft pretty pastels and pops of bold colours, we see limited edition eyeshadows, blush, lipstick, lipgloss and nail polish.  Star product of the collection is the Limited Edition Trianon Palette (RRP$120) that pays tribute to the fontanges bow in the same spirit as Raf Simons’s collections for Dior: with wit, curved lines, and minimalist silver heightened with a touch of pink, in the image of the designer’s accessories.  The Palette includes; eyeshadows, eyeliner and cheekblush.

The Dior Pore Minimizer (RRP$67) is a perfecting, matifying base, which diminishes pores and creates a matte effect upon application, refining skin texture and smoothing fine lines.  Makeup Tips: Apply all over to hydrated skin, starting in the centre of the face and blending outwards and upwards with fingertips. Pore Minimizer can be used alone or under foundation for optimal application and hold. Touch up during the day to matify and diminish pores by patting gently onto the required area then blending in with fingertips.

The Dior Glow Maximizer (RRP$67) radiance booster provides skin an infusion of light without shine or iridescence. Inspired by studio reflectors, its imperceptible texture contains microscopic mirrors to instantly illuminate the face, sculpting features and correcting colour imperfections. Dark shadows fade, and the complexion looks as radiant as under studio lighting. Makeup Tips: As a booster – mix a pea-sized quantity with your foundation and apply a light layer to well hydrated skin. Blend outwards and upwards. To sculpt the face – pat gently over makeup onto the desired, light-catching areas such as the forehead, the bridge of the nose, the brow bone and cheekbones.

For your eyes, the collection features the new Diorshow Fusion Mono Matt (RRP$50) professional grade texture of eye shadows that leave an ultra-matte finish on your eyes. The spongy, mousse-like texture blends beautifully onto the lid, can be worn sheer or built up for a darker pigmented look either using your fingertips for the softer look or brush applicator for a more intense look.  Available in four colours; 091 Nocture, 121 Celeste, 761 Mirage, and 721 Songe.  We love this eyeshadow, it even comes with a gorgeous little brush in the bottom of the box, our pick is Songe. Also available is two 5 couleurs Limited Edition Shadow palettes (RRP$103) in; 234 Pastel Fontanges and 954 Pink Pompadour and the Diorshow Mono Shadows (RRP$48) in 170 Angelique and 427 Opaline.

The Dior Backstage Long-Wear and Smoothing Eye Primer (RRP$45) is a weightless volatile oil, that smoothes out the eyelid. Once applied, the oil evaporates to FIX the makeup. Instantly, eyeshadow colours reveal their full payoff. Throughout the day, it prevents eyeshadow from creasing, keeping colour even, intense and true all day long.
